Aligning with the Cosmic New Year: A Soulful Reset

Yesterday, I visited my mom and stepfather, and it brought me a sense of relief.

While my stepfather’s condition has improved, I could sense that their life together is beginning to change. There’s no doubt things are getting more challenging, but I reminded myself not to see or feel everything through my own filter. Instead, I want to hold onto the image of the two of them looking happy together.

On the way home, I had a quiet moment alone with my mom. As always, I felt her unconditional love—but along with it came a wave of guilt for not living closer to her. I couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional.

That emotional haze lingered, and perhaps combined with jet lag, it kept me up all night. I woke up feeling anything but refreshed.

Even though I tried to connect with my higher self and realign my energy, it just didn’t work this time. And that’s okay—sometimes, we have days like this.

Even when I manage to return to mindfulness, the momentum of that unsettled energy keeps generating anxious thoughts one after another.

When I stay in that space too long, even problems that don’t actually exist in the present start to feel painfully real. Before I know it, I find myself thinking, “It’s my fault I created this reality,” or “It’s my fault I feel like I don’t belong.”

Then come the vague worries about the future—my own aging, my child growing more distant physically as they continue building their adult life, and so many other things that I can’t quite name but still feel.

sigh.

Living across borders may seem exciting from the outside, but behind the scenes, it often comes with its own share of worries, loneliness, and at times—even guilt from being far away from loved ones.

Then again, if I had stayed close to family all the time, I might have faced a different kind of dissatisfaction or a sense of isolation.

Life has its paradoxes.

But as the morning sky finally began to brighten, the heavy fog inside me lifted, too.

After waking up, I connected with my husband in the U.S. over LINE, and we played a round on our favorite game app. I beat him (again 😄), and it gave me a cheerful start to the day.

Later, while checking the weather forecast on a youtube for tonight’s plans, a suggested video popped up—something about frequency and aging, if I remember right.

I felt curious and clicked on it. And then, I heard a line that really stayed with me...

Many people carry a vague sense of anxiety about their future—especially when it comes to aging.
Little by little, these fearful assumptions about “old age” get imprinted into our consciousness, often without us even realizing it.

But it made me wonder—do we really need the concept of old age at all?

Japanese spiritual teacher Yoshikazu Namiki once said something powerful:
“Old age exists because we believe it does.”

In other words, it’s our belief that we’ll become weaker or run out of money as we grow older that brings those very realities into our experience.

But what if we believed something entirely different?

What if we truly believed—regardless of age—that we could remain vibrant, energized, and full of life?

The takeaway was simple yet powerful:
Let go of the idea of "old age" and the worries that come with it—just live fully in the now.

The real secret? Start doing what excites you so much that you forget to even think about aging.

Looking around, I realize I know quite a few people who embody this mindset—like my American friends who, in their 60s, boldly moved abroad to start a new chapter, or others who dive deeply into their hobbies with childlike passion. Of course, health plays a big part, but their attitude is just as vital.

The more we worry, the more we attract situations that match those worries.
This message, grounded in both universal law and the essence of mindfulness, deeply resonated with me.

I understand that not everyone will resonate with this perspective—and that’s completely okay.
What we choose to believe is personal, and there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.

For many of us, worries don’t simply disappear. Some people might say, “But shouldn’t we be doing something for our future—like saving money, getting insurance, or going for regular health checkups?”

And if you asked Abraham, the response would probably be something like this:
If it brings you a sense of peace and reassurance, then absolutely—do it.

When things don’t go as planned, or when anxiety starts to grow louder, it’s often a powerful opportunity to shift our awareness in a big way.

Rather than trying to fix the outer circumstances, it can be far more effective to change our own frequency.
And sometimes, that means letting go of old thought patterns and outdated beliefs.

I feel like I’m in one of those moments myself right now.
So yesterday, on my way home, I picked up a new notebook—something to help me focus, reflect, and give myself a little space to reconnect.

Oh—
And I just remembered…

That day happened to be what some call the Cosmic New Year.

In Western astrology, the Cosmic New Year begins when the Sun enters Aries—right at the Spring Equinox, usually around March 20th.

Aries, the very first sign of the zodiac, symbolizes new beginnings, passion, and courageous action.
From a spiritual perspective, this cosmic reset is considered even more powerful than the calendar New Year on January 1st.

It’s seen as a major energetic shift—a sacred time to set new intentions, make wishes, and clearly declare your desires to the Universe.

In hindsight, I feel like the emotional heaviness I experienced was actually guiding me toward this exact moment. A chance to pause, reflect, and realign with something new.

To be honest, I’m not someone who always follows the spiritual calendar in detail—but if you missed making your Cosmic New Year declaration on the Spring Equinox, don’t worry!

The energy of this portal remains strong for 2–3 days before and after.
So it’s not too late to ride the wave of this “fresh start” energy.
Why not take a moment to release what no longer serves you—and make a heartfelt declaration to the Universe? ♡
